Shelter from the wind

We were up at 5:15am so we would be ready for our 6am lift through the construction area. The original plan was to take us 8 miles but this morning they said only 1 1/2 miles, that at least got us through the oneway section. Some great views along the road as we head out of Wyoming. We passed a missile installation that looked like Wyoming might be ready to attack Montana. We took photos at the stateline and then headed for Alzada and BJ's truck stop. We had an early lunch and headed west into a headwind to see how far we could get. We crossed the Little Missouri River and wondered if it was related to the Missouri River to the north. We finally stopped in Hammond and camped behind the post office. The wind was getting really bad and shelter inside felt good. We visited with all ranchers who can in to pickup mail. Interesting history and stories from each. Some lightning in the distance but once again no rain. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
