Stockton City Park

The wind woke us up at 4:45am so we packed up and hit the road at 5:30am. We'll try to beat the heat today as the ride is 52 miles. With all our lights on we headed 5 miles to Waldo. Visited my childhood home and talked to the lady next door. All the structures in the neighborhood are down or falling down. Off to Paradise and the old water storage tower. Pulled into the Plainville Dairy Queen for the big deal lunch. Off to Stockton at 12:10 with a nice south tailwind. We covered the 13 miles in just over 1 hour. After a stop at Dollar General for tortillas and a 2 liter diet coke we head for the Stockton City Park. Free camping for tenters. Women's shower is broken so she's in the men's shower and I'm standing guard. With all laundry and showers completed the tent and related gear is broken out. The temperature was cooler today and the wind are currently shifting from the west. Rode our trikes to town looking for something for dinner. We settled for pizza from the corner store. Not our favorite but it will do in a pinch. Back to camp as the wind is picking up speed. Into the tent at 7:30pm to keep it on the ground.
