Same as 5 years ago

Everything was dry so we packed up and departed at 7:15am. The first eleven miles was mostly uphill but the nice tailwind made for a great ride. We spotted our first antelope of this trip out in the grassy pastures. Trains, trains, trains and trains moving in both directions both loaded with coal and empty. Alliance has a large BN yard and service operation. We arrived at ll:30am thanks to good roads and a very favorable wind. Made a DQ stop and then rode out to Carhenge. On our way back into town we found the Sallow muesum which was about the various wars the locals had served in and their stories. Great place to visit. We also learned about the Alliance Air Base which was open between 1942 and 1946. It now serves as the home of the State military cemetery. We checked into the Rainbow Motel and were given room 20. This is the same motel and room we stayed in on our first Alaskan Trike trip in 2009. Later in the evening a thunderstorm developed to the west and we got the same look as the first stay. No snow this time, only rain. We watched the final leg of Amazing Race and then lights out as we had managed to ride 48 miles today.
