On again off again showers

Up at 6am after a good night's sleep. After breakfast and packing our bags, we started putting everything on our trikes. After several trips in and out of the room we managed to get locked out and of course the key was inside. Ten minutes later we found a phone number and called the motel and got the manager. He said he would come and unlock our door in about ten to fifteen minutes. Back in business we finished up and headed to Subway for breakfast. We stopped in Sutherland for lunch and met a fellow named Mike. He told us his life story and insisted on paying for our lunch. Thanks, Mike. We went looking for Frank, who we met on a cruise, but no one was at home. Off down the road with showers possible at anytime. We checked out a campground we called about but it had no bathrooms. Off again and then out of nowhere a cyclist appears to provide us some much needed information. His name was also Mike, now a retired farmer, and partially blind. He rides daily but only makes right turns so he doesn't ride into the path of anything. He rode with us the 7 miles into Ogallala. Train traffic has dropped as we have passed the intersection to the Wyoming coal fields. The price to camp was $27 or $42 for a motel, so the hot shower and warm bed won out after riding 55 miles today. As we were watching Survior it started pouring rain, glad we made the right choice.
