Oregon Trail Campsite, Oshkosh

It was 34f overnight with light winds. We had oatmeal and peanut butter to fuel us for the morning. We left the motel at 7:20am and 41f. A good climb heading out of town got the heart pumping and warmed the body. About 20 miles down the road "our road angel" had cold juice for our morning snack. What a great guy. An awesoome ride down Windlass Hills and then a visit to Ash Hollow Historical Park. It's hard to think of what it must have been like to have lived in a sod house. Chicken fajita burritos and fries in Lewellen made for a good break and a tasty lunch. Thirteen miles of triking put us in Oshkosh at the local grocery store. There we found fresh strawberries and diet coke to take to camp. The campsite was loaded with nasty sand burrs and had "NO" toilet. Many toilet trips to the corner store thoughout the evening and the night. Thanks goodness it was free camping.
