One "not" so wild for the night
Slept great until another hour long storm rolled through about 3:30am. It wasn't nearly as bad as the one yesterday evening. The road turned to gravel just a couple hundreds from our campsite so we walked up to see if the rains had caused any damage. At first glance the road looked okay so we decided to give it a go. We rode about l mile and the further we went the worse to road got. Big mud holes and extremely large gravel was all we saw ahead. We turned around and retraced our tracks to the pavement. We stopped for a few minutes to plan a new route and then set off for Roundup. The first little town was Melstone about 10 miles from camp. I needed some lotion for my chapped heel and found a tube of utter balm in the general store. We saw some mule deer and antelope grazing in the green fields. In Roundup we spotted the Big Sky Motel right in the middle of town and decided to sleep inside tonight. Walked across the street to the IGA and found a six pack of Alaskan Amber in the beer cooler and just had to buy it. Haven't had one in a long, long time. The beer tasted gooood. We walked a couple blocks to the A&W and discovered that the IRS had seized the property so we needed a new plan for supper. The Conoco station had homemade burritos for sale so we gave them a try and guess what--they were great. The lady said she would be back at 5am. I believe I just found breakfast. I put the trikes under the overhang in front of our room as it looked like rain again. Time to relax and recount our 47 mile stop and go ride.
