A first class triker stop
At 5am Dee's cell phone rang and it was her sister. The report was that Dee's dad had taken a fall during the night and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. A black eye and some bruises was the extent of the damage. Dee's sister was going to keep an eye on him until noon and report back if there was any change. Everything looks good. The outside temperature was 33f so we stayed until the 11am checkout time. We rode through downtown and headed west toward the old airport. Subway was at the turnoff so we stopped for lunch. Visited the old military airport and took photos of the buildings before heading on down the road.
Still cloudy and a slight headwind as we neared Moore, a Hutterite community. We met 2 men in an old pickup and asked how far it was to the truck stop. They said not far and offered each of us cold beer. We talked about their lifestyle and our trip before heading on down the road. We stopped at the Amish General Store and bought a few supplies and had ice cream before returning to the truck stop. We only rode 21 miles today but that was just enough. Camping was free if you're in a tent so we qualified. You can't beat that with a stick. We enjoyed a truck stop dinner before retiring to tent for a little reading (Dee) and some shut eye (Cal).
