A restful day
We wanted to get an early start as the forecast was for strong westerly winds by mid-morning. We ate, packed and were on the road by 5:45am. The 16 miles to the divide was slightly uphill and then 8 miles of downhill to the Belt tunoff. Just a short ride from there to the Fort Ponderosa Campground and our day of rest. After setting up our tent, we stuffed our gear inside and were off to find the tiny Belt Cafe. We arrived at 9am and were still allowed to order the early morning breakfast special. It hit the spot. We rode around town and then headed back to the campgound which was about 2 miles out of town. We showered and did laundry and the winds are just now starting to pickup. Dee checked on her dad and he is doing much better. The highlight of the day was when a pickup and trailer attempted to park across from us in a back-in site. They tried real hard to destory the trailer and do significant damage to the pickup. In the end it all turned out okay. As we turned in for the night the winds were still blowing.
