Our trike seats double as reading chairs
About 1:30am a large thunderstorm passed just to south with lots of thunder and lightning, but no rain. At 7am we were all ready to head for the tower. We left the trailer at the entrance and rode the 3 miles to the visitor's center. After getting the stamp we hiked around the base of the tower. Lots of information and view point along the way. A park employee told us that when we become seniors she hopes we'll still be able to ride the way we do now. If she only knew. After returning for our trailer we meet a young man from France who was touring the western US. The ride to Hulett was mostly downhill with a tailwind. Checked in to the rustic Screaming Eagle Campground and showered before setting up the tent. We made arrangements with traffic control for a 6am shuttle through the road construction area. The afternoon temperature hit 89f so we sat in the shade and read. We walked to the grocery store for a sandwich and yogurt for supper.
