Long day -- 69 miles to Ellsworth. The last 14 were brutal hills. We have our trikes in our motel room with us because it is supposed to rain all day tomorrow -- maybe a day in the hot tub.

    I know those hills well, though only from driving (Sterling to Downs for three years). Can't imagine peddling. It appears to me that you might be going through Downs on your way to Minden. If so, you might want to give Gary and Glennys Doane or Sherry (Watts) Knouf a call. Both would love to visit with you I am quite certain.

    The hot tub idea sounds pretty good.

    If you travel through Downs we would be happy to have you stop for a visit. Our three kids are all gone from home, we have time and space, just 2 miles west of town. Good luck on your trip. Gary Doane
