DAY 21, July 4, 2010
Cal found a whole salmon at our camp this morning that a fisherman had left behind. He layed it out on the parking lot in hopes the eagles would get it, but the only birds that came were seagulls. We woke up to clearing skies and packed up for our ride to Child's Glacier. It was a 50 mile ride with 37 of it being gravel. The road was an old train bed, so it was nice and level. The rain held off until the last 5 miles and we had very little wind -- a biker's dream. We got the tent up between rain showers and spent the rest of the day watching the glacier calving -- just amazing. It was really active with huge chunks approximately 150 ft by 200 ft falling. We hated to go back to our tent and miss anything, but you could hear the explosions and the people shouting well into the night.
