DAY 17, June 30, 2010
Left our Russian camp early for a long (85 mile) ride into Valdez. We wanted to get ahead of the motor homes because the shoulder of the road is really bad here and we have to ride out in the road most of the time. It was a steady climb up to the summit and then a fast fridged descent (2650 feet down in 7 miles). Worthington Glacier seemed much smaller than when we were there 8 years ago. We rode a nice bike path the last 8 miles into town. Had pizza and Alaskan beer and hit the sack in the Bear Paw campground -- same one we camped in 8 years ago -- but didn't get rained out this time.
