We made it through the.storm to Dee's sister's house in Hutchinson -- 54 miles. Not too bad for day 1.

We are packed and ready to head out. Decided to leave a day early even though the weather is not great. Cal says that if we wait for perfect weather in Kansas we will never go.

We just compleated a 27 mile training ride fully loaded in a 25 mph wind. I think we are ready to leave 1 week from today.

We have Dee's trike all packed. Hope to take it for a spin today to see how it handles.

Less than a month to go. Here is a quick guide to our route from Wichita to Alaska. Major cities on the way are Hutchinson, KS., Minden, NE., Hot Springs, SD., Williston, ND., Regina, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, CA., Edmonton, Alberta, CA., Dawson Creek, British Columbia, CA., Whitehorse, Yukon, CA., and Skagway, AK. We then plan to take the ferry down to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, CA. and then head east to Jasper, BC. and Waterton National Park in Alberta, CA and then south through Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska and back home to Wichita. We have no time table so we will keep updating as we go along. The 6000 miles should take 6 months, if we are lucky.
