Left Farmington by way of main street and on to Aztec where we stopped at Subway and then DQ. Loaded up on water and turned onto hwy 173 (Dam Road) for the 25 miles to Navajo Dam State Park. Lots of climbs and coasts on a backcountry road loaded with energy related vehicles. Reached the dam just prior to sunset and within 30 minutes we were in the shower and setting up camp for the night.
